The Mt Washington Valley spans 28 towns and villages and is nestled into the shadow of the largest peak in the Northeast – Mount Washington. Offering everything from traditional Main Streets filled with eclectic and independently owned shops and restaurants to national brand name outlets, a wide range of lodging options, and 13 award winning ski resorts and XC Centers, it’s no wonder that North Conway (in the center of Mt Washington Valley) has been named among the top ski towns worldwide by National Geographic and tops in the USA by USA Today’s 10Best. Winter recreation abounds from mountain coasters to backcountry hiking, dog sledding, sleigh rides, ice skating and snowmobiling. Nestled among the western slopes of the White Mountains, the Lincoln, Woodstock, Franconia Notch area is conveniently located off Interstate 93 at exit 32, 33 and 34. Visitors will find a wide variety of diverse outdoor activities, natural and family attractions and world class ski areas, unique shops, superb dining, and an extensive selection of lodging in the White Mountains.
The diversity of environments around Lincoln Woodstock and Franconia Notch is incredible for a relatively small geographic area. In this region of the state you will also find some of New Hampshire’s beautiful natural attractions.
Franconia Notch Regional Chamber of Commerce, situated in New Hampshire’s western White Mountains is a “Four Season, One Destination” experience for guests and visitors coming to our region. The Jackson area offers classic New Hampshire White Mountain Villages which have held a special attraction for visitors from around the globe for decades. Just eight miles from North Conway, yet without all the hustle and bustle, the Jackson area is also the gateway to Pinkham Notch.
The area’s landscape, complete with the Jackson “Honeymoon” covered bridge built in 1876, white steeple churches, high mountains and rolling farmland, has been deemed “sublime” and captured on canvas, and photographed by renowned artists and photographers from far and wide. The villages’ grand hotels, comfortable inns and original restaurants are known for their hospitality as well as world-class fine dining.

Surrounded by New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest, the towns of Twin Mountain and Bretton Woods stretch from the towering peaks of the Presidential Mountains to the rushing waters of the Ammooosuc River. Twin Mountain is a Four Season area with Skiing, Snowmobiling, Hiking, Biking, Bird and Moose viewing.
